As a parent or carer, do you sometimes feel like you need to have the answer for every question or the solution to every problem?
Do you sometimes feel like you need to appear to have your life in perfect order to be considered a “good parent”?
Well, we are happy to inform you that this is definitely not the case. In fact there are really important lessons that can be shared with your young person by allowing them to see you navigate your way through challenges. It lets them see that it is ok to be imperfect and make mistakes.
It allows them to witness you role modelling healthy & productive ways of working through difficult times. It teaches them that if we mess up, we can apologise and do better or try harder next time.
If we allow our young people to see us struggle. We allow space for them to share their struggles with us, knowing that they will be understood.
